New land, first trip

Recommended Posts

Now then boys, went out to the new bit of land that one of my farmers decided to tell me he had after 4 months of shooting at his farm, today was different, i got talking to a lad local to me who was struggling for permissions "smoggyadam" is his name on here, arranged to go check this new bit of land out this morning, so went and picked him up and made our way to the shoot, as we arrived we saw a few rabbits, squirrels and pigeons as we parked up. We made our way to the corner of the field where there is a little spinny wood, we decided to check zero's and do some plinking, adam has only previously shot in his back garden so has only been able to zero his brand new .177 ultra in at 15 meters. we both decided we wanted 25 meter zero's so we put some paper targets out and soon had pellet on pellet groupings, then we decided to calibrate, our mildots right out to 40+ yards untill we were happy and putting 20p size groupings in, i took a few decoy pigeons with me and they soon were getting a battering, My .22 S10 was putting pellet on pellet through the kill zone of the decoy at 40 yards with 2 mildots hold over, and adam's .177 ultra was giving decent groupings aswell, all easy kill shots if the pigeons were real. Today wasnt about big bags, but more about having a plink, getting confident at range with our rifles and giving adam a chance to see what his new rifle could do, adam has never had chance to do this, with not yet having any permissions of his own. No live targets were shot today, but i was just happy to of met a local lad who shares the same enthusiasm as i do, a good day on the targets and met a decent lad and ill be taking him out again as he was sensible and i have no doubt of his ability to take live quarry next time i bring him along with me, Cheers adam

Dont worry boys i took photos, i know how you all like to have a nosey lol
