c.kirky 0
my dog has got two little bald spots with dry skin took her the vet she was checked and had no ringworm, mites or fleas. reason for going the vet was because i had no idea why plus i have a 1 year old daughter and didn't want her to catch anything if the dog did have them problems. has anybody else whos got a pat ever experienced this unexplained for loss of fur does it grow back? the vet says its common in these dogs no treatment was needed. people have said mix cod liver oil with her food is this wise will it help or is it a stupid idea. dogger 100
got a 6 month old pup here the now its lost hair on its ears and its tail looks like a gorillas finger, lol ive been putting anusol pile cream on it as recommended by my auntie whos a pharmacist and the hair seems to be slowly coming back, camrosa cream and benzyl benzoate are also used to assist skin conditions....sometimes a change in diet can make there hair fall out or if you use different bedding, i had another dog that lost hair after my wife gave me a old pillow for her bed the dog burst it and the fibre filling didnt agree with the dog, piriton tablets can sometimes help as well with things like this if the dog is allergic to whatever youve changed to hope this helps atb Quote Link to post

Oweny 0
I,ve got a whippet pup that has lost the hair around one eye, no redness or signs of scratching etc but it looks stupid as he,s black and the baldness sticks out, i thought it strange that it is only around the one eye and no where else on his body ? any suggestions Quote Link to post

One of mine had something similar but had puss filled zits underneath the scabby dry spots. The vets tried to tell me it was ring worm which I knew it wasn't because the others would of caught it, and they didn't have anything wrong with them. It was because of the dry food I had him on at the time that he had a reaction too. When I stopped giving him the crap food and kept him on the raw it cleared up. Quote Link to post
tearem 31
Could be demodex, APBT, Staffords and related dogs can be prone to that. In severe cases the treatment doesn't help, I knew many pits and staffs with the problem, and years ago I had bought a Fell/Border pup with very severe demodex, had to put her down. The tendency for it is hereditary, there were more pups in that litter affected with it. It is not contagious though, for dogs which are, as they mostly are, immune. Quote Link to post

I get trimmings from the butcher.Pork,Beef,Lamb,Chicken a bit of everything. Also feed a lot of raw meaty bones and raw blended veg, eggs etc. They do very well on it.Once you have tried it you won't go back to processed food.
