birddog 1,354
hey kev, can't believe shes not been snapped up either with all the good comment they've been getting. her little sister is settling in well mate, looks to be a natural retriever always carrying something around shoes, toys, balls and dragged a dead bunny from the garden back to her bed. already walking round garden on a lead and getting on well with jazz and the ferrets. developing a lot of longer guard hairs and even a wee beard now. (pics to follow). and for everyone else thinking about this pup: her sire is a big strong rough coated 29 in linebred deerhound cross and her dam is 26in by top honcho out of a bitch with 2 lines to westmead and larkhill joe, (hope ive got that bit right) not bad breeding eh? dvdskv 30
Very surprised shes still with you, she looks a cracker Thanks Jan, she wasnt my favourite to start with, but shes had me thinking for a while, but im gonna stick with the one i originally picked,if i could keep her i would. I keep saying after a few cans im keeping her and going to bed with my mind made up. Then reality hits me when i wake up Running on two pups isn't the easiest of things to do Kev, much better with just the one to concentrate on, but I can see why you would want to Whoever is lucky to get the last pup, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I have a deerhound greyhound bitch, Nuala, out of the sire of this pups litter sister and from her I have bred a pup of my own, who looked remarkably like the one pictured above as a youngster, and coming on extremely well (pictured in my avatar). Look at her long back, long tail and tight feet...if I had the space I'd have been very tempted. There are some very well bred dogs going back in this pups pedigree. As I have said before, I can't believe shes still up for sale. I'd much rather buy a home-bred pup, bred by the owner for the purpose of keeping one himself, than one from someone who breeds litter after litter on a commercial basis. £150 is more than reasonable for a pup of this breeding and quality. I know its sensible just to keep the one, time is hard to come by sometimes for me,so the time i do have would be better spent with one. I'm suprised also that she is still here, like you said there have been some handy dogs come from the line. Im also suprised that J hasnt been to get one. But again its a time thing.
