Snifferboy 659
Well I'm well Chuffed!!! My little bitch had her first rabbit tonight, her first run was good, a short slip on some stubble she had her nose on it 3 or 4 times and just seemed to test what it was instead or getting hold of it. Then my mates Bull x had a couple of good runs and picked up a couple. I foolishly gave Tilly a long slip then but she made good ground, turned it a couple of times before it made it's get away. Then we came up to the next field after she had a little rest light went on and there was a rabbit about 50 yards out just in a dip I slipped her and she couldn't see it to start with and eased up just as she reached the brow, spotted it and was on it in seconds 3 or 4 turns and scooped it up. Didn't retrieve it all the way back to me but that will come in time. So I am 1 very happy Sniffer! Quote Link to post

Don 5
Same for me sniffer went out last night in Northumberland on a new bit of land it was galeforce winds so couldnt resist it, a few were sitting out too close to the hedge so I waited for a good run I could hardly see for the rain being driven horizontally, I spotted 2 rabbits down wind about 60yards away, dog spotted them so I slipped her, she ran full pelt at the sitting rabbit it jumped in the air and ran straight back to the hedge in the opposite direction..lol,she caught up with it turned it twice and nailed it, she was a bit slow with her retrieve think she couldnt actually believe she had caught one..lol. She came to me after a minute and dropped it at my feet just managed to get holdd of it before it ran off, I was soaked to the skin in galeforce winds boots covered in mud from the plough felt like they weighed 10 stone each, but you couldnt have found a happier man in the North East last night, a lottery win couldnt of made me happier I had a grin from ear to ear all the way back home, I shoot and fish but nothing beats going out with the dog youve brought up and trained and see it catching bunnies.
