Is it just me

Recommended Posts

I,ve been on this site now for a wee while and a large amount of the discussion/topics is all about how great your dug is,if it makes "the grade"if its a "jacker" whos got the best lines, dugs,"World beaters" this x is the best, that x is the best, blah blah blah, now don,t get me wrong I like to see a half decent dug doing its stuff but to me it ain,t some kind of competition, for me personaly its about getting out and about and seeing the dugs working, respect for the quarry/countryside etc and if you get something for the freezer its a bonus.

I think maybe if there,s any youngsters starting out and reading half the shite on here they,re being given the wrong idea of what its all about,

Don,t know how many people on here feel the same, just thought I,d have my say

and bye the way I,m not on the vodka tonight

Yep, just about sums up alot of topics on here for me aswell. I can't believe how many different names someone can be called just for having a different opinion to other people on here. Ruines alot of good threads IMHO.

well said mate!! I hate it on here as it seams to be a numbers game, i'ed rather see a f*****g hard run with class and the dog working hard than 10 runs!

the other thing is people putting words in ya mouth!

Just look after your self and thats it!

Each to their own, what you do is what you do, but half the dogs the get sold / pts could have probably been decent dogs if the lad who owned them wasnt constantly trying to measure them against some inflated standard. The owner would also be a better dogman if they didnt worry so much about said inflated standard. My dogs my best mate, i spend more time with him than any other living thing.

My missus lives 120 miles away most of the time  Whereas i can usually put my hand on the dog most of the time  I'm also lucky the misses (having never even thought about the concept of hunting before meeting me) loves coming out when she is here and loves the dogs, so their family, a hobby, a companion, a tool, a guard, source of food and occasional income. . . . . As long as there is enough game on the table and the freezer, its just about spending time working and hunting with the animals for the pleasure of that bond and watching them work, the numbers are a bonus. Often i go to land where i know i will only catch a few but it will be more interesting/challenging land to hunt, better for the dogs and better scenery rather than land i could fill my boot.
