Guest Macnas
Before I got a waged job, I did anything I could turn my hand to, the feckin worst, for my money (so to speak) was picking spuds. To this day, I can see an endless drill of spuds stretching out before me, my back broke and fingernails jammed with freezing mud. Hard graft for next to shag all. One farmer paid me for a weeks worth of spud bashing with a fecking cheque! 27 punt it was, I gave it to my old man to cash, and that was the last I fecking saw of it. Thining beet, baling hay, and white-washing were the other main sources of work (note I didn't say money). When you look back on it, isn't it incredible how many businesses rely on what was (is) basically slave labour from hard-up young fellows?

Paid 935
My fist job was a yts apprenticship, with a couple of travellers who ran a plumbing firm in central london, they gave cowboys a bad name, and on the first day they dropped me off at a job with a bag of tools and told me to fit up a kitchen, and theyed be back at 5 to pick me up It was £30 a week, but they always threw me another £100 so it wasnt so bad. Chucked it in after they had me unblocking a drain with bin bags tied to me arms, and when i felt something sharp, and pulled me arm out, I had a handfull of syringes, and one was sticking out me knuckle! Prob spent it on weed.
