using the tredmill

I've one. Have not used it for ages. Should be used as an addition to normal exercise, not a replacement.

Brilliant for getting dogs fit again after injury, especially if you do not want them running on uneven ground for a while.

Very wise words Moll, they are a good bit of kit especially if you want to keep the edge on the muts but can not through bad weather,the top greyhound lads dont use them for nothing.

i know that people with bull terriers use them, but by combining them with weight-pulling and springpole. some even go as far as saying that they are better than road-walking but i disagree. physical attributes might be the same, but you and your dog build a stronger bond bu walking out in the open, and also, when ever do you see a rabbit you can slip the dog on whilst your dog is on a treadmill?

usual stupid comments from people that dont know how to utilise these superb pieces of equiptment.Mills are a great bit of kit if used in a proper manner,they help get that extra bit out of the dog.Everyone that comments ''stupid'' must have a mental picture of some fat lazy beer swilling sanwich munching oaf sat in a soft chair while his dogs run the mill.They MUST be used with a regular road walking regeime.When I had bulldogs I used to have 2,road walking was apriority but he mill really uped their fitness.Now I await the insults :cry:

Spot on :thumbs:

Always amazes me the people who are so negative have never even used one for their dog. When used properly, it takes more dedication to use in conjunction with regular exercise. You have to plan the dogs walking/running regime. They need to have a warm up period as well as a warm down. You do not go and leave the dog, so your time you could be doing something else is taken up watching the dog.
