Rake aboot 4,935
Tika is fine, I had one (T3) and got rid of it for a 150 quid Parker Hale and am very happy with it. Shoots every bit as good as the Tika. Lotsa change from a grand there bud ! ATB Quote Link to post
Colster 1
At the risk of repeating myself, if you're looking to buy new I don't think you'll beat a Browning A-Bolt for value for money. Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
hi mate, you will not find any better action on any tikka than the 595, apart from the older sako models, if you have 1000 pounds to spare put a stock on it and get a bedding job done, if you change the 595 looking for a better modern day action your nuts... don't just take my word for it ask any gunny worth his salt, tight tolerances, doesn't most likely need the action squared like rem 700, If your looking for options i'll be gald to put you in touch with the fella that built mine, on a 595 action, Snap Quote Link to post
trigger happy tikka 0
i am wanting to keep the 595 in 22.250 as a dedicated foxing rifle it is perfect for the job i am goiong to buy a 243 aswell as just to be legal for deer even thro i have been told there isnt that much difference between the calibers the law is the law an 243 is the deer caliber in england Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
i'd look for another tikka 595 if you can get your hands on it, Atb Snap. Quote Link to post

hw100sniper 2
THT I would really like to try 1 of the older tikka's if there that good because I cant fault the t3 lite out the box.The Sako I shot was in 308 and it seemed really good as is Dave 1372's steyr it feels really good on the shoulder and looks the bee's knee's .As Colster says the Browning is supposed to be good but I just didnt like the feel of it .Wish you all the best in what ever you choose buddy Quote Link to post
trigger happy tikka 0
cheers mate went for a heavy barreled stainless t3 varmint i think it should be up to what i want it for as i shoot my 595 mostly Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
snapshot is right the tikka m590 and m595 are superb actions. if you want to use the 22/250 as a foxing rifle and get a second one in 243 for deer then do so. you could get a nice 243 m595 for around £500 and that will be nice. or find a worn out one cheap 2/250/308 and have a nice custom barrel on it in 243. so keep a eye out for them Quote Link to post
robbobsam 0
hi i was looking for a bit of advice as i have just applied for 243 for deer on my permission and just looking for some rifle advice my current foxing set up is a 595 tikka synthetic stock with leupold 4,5x14x50 vx3 an t8 mod and harris bipod the longer one to shoot sitting up this rifle is in 22.250 and i find it shoots great but am stuck with so many options should i stick with tikka or is there better options i have 1000 pound for rifle only If you are after a .243 for deer get one with a 1 in 9 twist barrel as a 1 in 10 will struggle to stabilise a 100grain bullet in most instances and you will need 100grainers to shoot deer in Scotland. I have a Tikka T3 Super Varmint and it shoots 0.5" groups at 200 yds off of sandbags. (80grain bergers with 37.5 grains of varget) Its an awesome rifle and the accuracy is as good as most custom jobbies. Tikka and Sako are made in the same factory and the accuracy is second to none. Homeloads will get the very best out of your rifle, don't be fooled into believing that you have to have a custom rifle to get top draw accuracy.
