jock16 0
i had a tikka 243 great gun never let me down but i sold it and got a sako 22.250 it will do everything the 243 did shoots a bit more flat than the 243 good for the foxes up to 250 yards very light bulit though im reloading and find its brought my grouping in to just under 1 inch my advice reload your own a lot cheeper and more accurate Quote Link to post
trigger happy tikka 0
i have a 595 tikka in 22.250 for foxing but in england you need a 243 for deer as a minimum requirement i have bought a brand new tikka t3 stainless super varmint but cant colect it from the shop because the feo is taking the pi** with my ticket bad head or what Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Jock, the .243 will push a light bullet (55gr for example) faster, and therefore flatter than a factory loaded 22-250. What range are you grouping at an inch? Quote Link to post
trigger happy tikka 0
with the 22.250 at a 100yds i am grouping within half an inch with home loaded round s which is 50 grain vmax with 37 grains of h414 an cci primers Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
i'm just wondering why everyone's wanting a flatter shooting round, faster isn't always better, and maybe less accurate, i'm just wondering how many people dial in their shots...!!! zero'ed at 100 yards with the .243 i normally just point and shoot out to 200 or so with little hold over, And over this i dial in everything after ranging... i have always prefered accuracy over velocity, and an accurate load at 100 yards may be totally crap at 300, So i always shoot paper before going to charlie... long range foxing round is 87g v-max for me at the minute, but i'm looking into the 105g A-max to see how they do after i've finished testing long range.. So how many on here chronograph the round from their rifle...? or do you just take factory spec's quoted of the ammo box...? Quote Link to post
trigger happy tikka 0
i totally agree with that and i am led to belive extremly fast rounds do wear the barrel out faster what i ment by flat in my previous topics is the distance i could point and shoot off zero eg 250yds ect even through relisticaly the bullet isnt traveling flat just ignore this if it dosent make sense because i struggle with computers they arent my strong point Quote Link to post
