tearem 31
Mates, just lost my favorite terrier. Like a nightmare. In fact I had many nightmares about this same scenario. But it never happened yet. After having survived 4 hunting seasons to wild boar, badger and fox, I take her and her kennel partner out for a walk in a big terrain with rabbit warrens. She disappears somewhere as she always does: she hunts independantly. She got a compliment about that last weekend at the last drive hunt to red deer and wild boar. She always hunted alone. She often didn't even join in when the others had caught a boar. Instead, she flushed a number of them herself and kept the hunt going. So Chili disappeared, but I had an urgent appointment so I go over to this place, stay away for 3/4 hour and return for her. Phone call, police (I had a bright colored collar on her with bells and my phone number, for just in case): Somenone's just after having a car accident with your dog. It was only 300 metres from where I was standing, calling for her. If I had come 15 minutes earlier she would have been alive. In search of me, instead of waiting where my car had been, she ran in ever bigger circles around and crossed a busy highway. I found her dead. Still warm. But dead. I was screaming my heart out sitting on my knees with Chili. I can't miss her and as for breeding for the future, the gap she leaves cannot be filled. The gut feeling is unbearable. She was 5 years, correctly built, with good double hard coat, the right size (small and athletic) and she was the cleverest of all my terriers. She was Chili. Quote Link to post

tearem 31
vosey that dog in your atavar is exactly like Chili. I have her son Wasabi and her granddaughter Tabasco. Her mother is Semtex my grand old lady and father was shot by a hunter while flushing a pig out of the maize a few years ago so I cannot repeat the combination. Quote Link to post
