Recommended Posts

Aknow we all love a good wind when we'r out lamping but earlier 1 of the boys foned asked if I fancied a shine tonight but it's proper blowing of gale here just know really stormy winds so I decided for the safety of myself and the dogs to give it a pass tonight but made me wonder if any of yous would venture out in they conditions for a nights lamping?

i use this site,,,, just put your postcode in , or a town name . if you look down you can see the wind speed for each hour of the day or night,,,,,, it also tells you when its going to rain or shower,,,,, and i have found it to very reliable.

tonight around 40+ wind speed

had some great bags on really windy drizzly nights, the main thing to watch when running thinner coated dogs is that they dont get too wet and shivery between runs, take an old towel with you and when you take the dog back to the motor, give them a good rub down, heaters on full blast etc, and then again when you get home make sure they are fully warm and dry before bedding them down for the night

as for the safety bit  any run could be a dogs last it doesnt have to be windy. they are working dogs and should be taken good care of but not wrapped in cotton wool

Must laugh at most things you hear on here not going lamping no wind now not going lamping its to windy :toast: :toast: most people on hear must only get out twice a season waiting on the perfect night or day.If its windy bit wet and dark what more you want for nights lamping.

Only time its too windy is when its too wet

tonight looks too good to not be out mooching...i just wish it was where there was more rabbits that's all.I went out last night and saw very little..weather is perfect for lamping tonight..but there will still not be enough rabbits about...and if everyone else has the same idea as me..they will be out also,So it will still be a miracle if i get anything local...but as usual . I will be trying.LOL

looking forward to going down south at the weekend for some good sport with Trigger... Its a long drive for a good night, but these things have to be done if its not poss local. Had a good night last week down there as usual with lots of runs and my dog is learning some great tricks from an old dog that's a good worker.
