dougie_s410k 1
This one maybe a bit of debate but in general on a daily basis how much do you feed your ferrets/ferret? ie how much per ferret or there abouts? i know everyones opinions will differ but id like to get a good idea of what people feed and how much daily etc...Many thanks in advance Quote Link to post
Hob&Jill 258
My 2 are geting 3 quarter lambs heart a day at the moment, as the butchers are doing them cheap. I have never been told to be honest how much you 'should' feed them. At the end of the day you know your animals, once you have your ferrets abit longer you should start to tell how much and what she likes etc. Its abit like the guidelines on the back of a pack of dog food, I would never follow them. What are you feeding them? Quote Link to post

dougie_s410k 1
ive got them a selection of bits so far, in the freezer i have some chicken wings, day old chicks, bits from my local butchers, couple of carcasses and some dry food that they get a little bit of every now and then, they have had a couple of squizzers this week that they didnt take long to eat but have pretty much gathered to feed them when they have eaten the rest , obviously it may not be the case in the summer as the meat stored will go off/flies.Im keeping away from the cat food etc as mentioned in other threads ive taken time to look through and used a few ideas from others. My two are getting handled every day and the jill has tamed down a hell of alot now so much that im astounded, with a bit of hard work and patience alot can be achieved. To say im happy up until now is an understatement, cheers to all thats helped me out :thumbs-up: Quote Link to post

mooster 1
Little and often seems to keep my hob and 2 jills alert and healthy. I agree as already said, trial and error.I always try to imagine the size of each ferrets stomach as a guide to portions...when they are full they will store for later or just retire to bed contented. If they are hungry they will race out of bed when they hear you coming. Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
At the moment, mine are getting rabbit and ferret complete, mixed with some chub dog food as a sustitute. They are doing fine. In the spring and summer, birds, hares, ect get added, as i do more rimfire/shotgun shooting for vermin. I find, when i can get them, domestis dead rats, from pet shops, that sell snake food, go down a treat. :thumbs-up: Frank. Quote Link to post

FUBAR 0
My 2 jills (not hutches) have pigeon or rabbit . Pigeon lasts them 2-3 days and a rabbit lasts about a week. I give them some of the dryied food perhaps 2 or 3 times a month Quote Link to post
