Sweeney-Todd 208
hi ya bill fantastic write up pal and great shooting to blood the new tench'd ultra with a nice rabbit to pal i do like the new stock on the ultra might look in to one of them for brendens ultra very nice indeed buddy shay Hiya Shay. Cheers me dear, glad you enjoyed it Yep, the new Minelli stocks on the Ultra are nice, could have done with more length in the combe though to be honest mate. It has a shortish length of pull as standard, so for anyone wanting to adjust to more length, it makes the comb a tad short, but then Im an awakward bugger anyway Proberbly fit your Brendon a treat though. ATB. Bill. i will have to look into that bill buddy as brenden does like them and the tac stock to he wants something that looks nice to as he is going with me on a HFT FT shoots down a local club and he wants his gun to look nice and his black stock he can use for hunting or i might just get another wooden stock and skeleton it for him what do you think buddy ? shay Hi Shay. Might pay to take Brendon along to your RFD and let him try the Minelli for size and fit mate. As you well know Shay, fitting the stock and legth of pull can make all the difference to the shot, and consitant head position is so valuable. Especialy if he gets into HFT FT shooting. Mass produced stocks beg to be played with. The RFD may even be able to measure Brendon, and give you a good base to work from mate. ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post
venomviper 129
yeah true bill i will take him on monday to try one i think and go from there the stock he has now on the reg'd ultra is standard size and he fits real well in it and he is getting very good groups at 30mtrs better than me lol but i will have a look at what they have to offer bill he likes the skeleton stocks like the light hunter falcons so something like that plus he uses a bipod and cushion as well and come to think of it he has my shooting stick as well lol he is a little advanced for a 10yr old when it comes to shooting joys of being out with me all the time lol but all good ideas though bill thank you matey shay Quote Link to post
Sweeney-Todd 208
Hi Shay. As a general rule of thumb. If you place Brendons arms at his sides, then bend his shooting arm out in front of him at 90 degrees, get him to form a pistol grip with his hand ( naturaly ) now with a tape measure, from the cleft of the arm, to the finger pad ( Trigger Finger ), measure that distance. That should give you a very good guide to his natural length of pull, make allowances for shooting clothing too. Once you have the length of pull you can work on combe length hieght etc. Hope you can understand that dribble My length of pull is 15 inches ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post
