Ex-Racing greyhounds for rabbit?

Recommended Posts

Mate i wouldnt have an ex racer. Thats just my opinion though. A greyhound absolutely i would but not one that been brought up in the ways of the track. And if i did i would keep it a lead for a long time before i trusted it. An x track grey is an animal that runs flat out, it knows nothing other than top speed and straight lines. It will hit a fence or tree very soon and due to the speed it will do dreadfull damage to itself and heartache to you. They dont know that in the real world there are trees to go round or fences to go over, hell they dont even understand the concept of uneven ground! Thats why i say keep it on a lead for a long time, so it can watch other running dogs do it but even then it can easily f**k up in the heat of the moment. A 8 week old puppy on the other hand..................
