Phantom 631
They can be to a point The action is the main cause of the noise and its the sound of the action that you get transferring through the stock and into your ears. You can 'dampen' the sound of the action to some extent by putting felt pad's or rubber pad's between the action and the stock although you can't totally remove it. The blast of air from the muzzle can be pretty much reduced by a good silencer Phantom Quote Link to post
bull101 35
can spring rifles be silenced? yes......but no......lol you can silence a spring rifle but unless you can silence the huuuuuugggggeee thud from the spring, then it isnt going to make a great deal.......i think! although it doesnt make them any worse to other types Quote Link to post
mikeyblue 28
Yes mate, and very effectively to. As the rifle is near your ear when you fire It can seem as though it sounds like a cannon going off! Rest assured with a decent silencer fitted, your target down range should only hear the pellet slamming into the killzone Mikey. Quote Link to post
