Treacle Trackpad 6
I wasn't due in work until 10am this morning so I planned a bit of a sit in a highseat as time was tight and I didn't want to be wandering off around the estate and miss work. Anyway, I got in the seat at 7am just as it was getting a bit light and settled in for the sunrise. I could just see through the trees when I heard a rustle to the right and turned slowly just to see a squizzer, but wait, two shadows moving through the trees about 50 yards out to my right, unidentified but had to be deer. Two options, wait and see if they carry on in their current direction and hope the come left and across my line of sight, or get down and try and locate them . I decided to stick it out and waited about 20 mins before a Roe doe came out where I was expecting, I waited a bit and watched to see if the other would appear too but no joy so I dropped the doe with a nice neck shot, dead on the spot at 0755. Another quality Roe off this land in tip top condition. The inspection was all clear, still loads of fat and clear signs of pregnancy (two 1cm foetus, one either side of the uterus) which I have pics of if anyone is interested to see what the early pregnancies look like. kyle304 5
Good write up, and good effort before your work. Qucik question- your roe carrier/strap in the pic, is it homemade job or have you bought that, looks the business and would save mucking about with ropes? Quote Link to post

I got it from here when they were £30, a bit expensive now (even then) but very handy. I had to carry this doe up a steep incline to gralloch it and the strap was ideal for the job if you don't want to fanny around with a roe sack. Easy enough to make out of saddle leather I suppose, if you know someone who can do it. Quote Link to post
