whats work situation like

Recommended Posts

its a bit shatty over here, there is jobs out there though if you wan't to work for fook all,

i've just been bittin and battin but the the mortgage still needs paying,

most of the jobs you see are all from agencies and all temp jobs so if you get rid of the agencies and let the employer "employ" i think that would be the best solution thumbs.gif

Problem is its so difficult to take someone on, if we have a bit of extra work then to take someone off benefits is a right ball ache. First they stop getting council tax and houseing payed for and when work runs out they have a gap before they start getting benefits again and a lot of people with responibilites cant take that risk. We have just found it a complete waste of time trying to take someone on legit when we only have temp work. I can see why people get agency staff.

Saying that I'm living week to week at the mo, the thought of being un-employed scares me to death, if fuel goes up any more, as it no doubt will, I dont know what we will do.

yes mate its not good, but if i was an employer i wouldn't use an agency, they charge the employer (lets just say) £10 ph and pay the gimp £6.50 and yes, they are a business, i just wonder if you could get a mortgage by working for agencies.

but maybe on another note the benefits are not worth losing thumbs.gif

can i give you an example of a job on the job centre site.

it was from an agency

temp roofer slater/tiler doing repairs on various properties throughout w yorks, must have transport and ladders, temp for 1 day £80.

laugh.giflaugh.gif

cheeky cnts.

all i can say is

GET A PRICE for your remedial work you TWAT.

no offence to you by the way thumbs.gif

Yes but if you get staff from an agency (we never have and never would) then if work dries up you just get rid, no claims for holidays sick pay etc.

As for benefits not worth having, its not so much what they give you but not paying council tax etc, fuel for commuteing even child care, wish I didnt have to worry bout those things!

fairplay for not using the agencies, can't you just not use casual labour? i thought an employer could, up to £150 per week but that's maybe a few years ago thumbs.gif

the reason profitable firms use agency labour is it so much more cost effetive and its allmost free labour -- all money spent on temp labour is tax deductable ie spend £250,000 a year on agency labour and of set that £250,000 against your tax bill = free labour the secret is don t keep the same staff over 12 weeks as they get the same rights as a fulltime emplyee then

as i own an agency lifes pretty good at the moment , its good to be busy you don t have to look for work to keep the lads busy were as when we are quite we have to hit the phones looking for work and thats a pain

ps i dont do constuction to volatile

spot on mate theirs always some daft c**t who'll do it! one job i went for had 740 people going for it, and it was only £7 hour

It was working for a collage, i was getting re-coded for my welding and this old boy was retiring all you had to do was cut some plate's n pipe for the test! the old boy asked if i'ed put my c.v in one day, witch i did, then he told me how many had applied for the job and he said they was people with A-levels after the job!!!

Countries f*cked ithink and i don't knowhow its going to get out of the quagmire its in. Problem being too many of the wrong sort in out tiny island. One example, a good mate of mine gets over £250 a week for him and his 3 kids, and more some weeks. He told me the other day that he cannot afford to get a job!!! I can see his point, whats the point in him getting a job earning a fiver an hour when he can draw £250 without leaving the house. We are all now reaping the crop of 13 years of Labour government sowing the seeds of a 'hand wringing' society with open floodgates and putting the working class man(and woman) at the very bottom of the pile.

How the Conservatives are going to get us out of this mess i have no idea....It's not going to be easy.

A number of my mates have no work or are getting laid off....Its a good job we cannot see into the future...

I remember when i was 16 i took a door knocking job sell tv's washers hifis , it was only for the summer ,

anyway i knocked this door and some border jumper lived their he'ed told me to come in ( I was shitting myself as he only had a pair or Y fronts on) so i walked in and he said look, so i did at fully kited out house, washers tv cooker, i mean the lot and it was all brand new , i asked him where he got it all from, he told me the gov not only got him the house but the kited the whole place out and he dose not have to pay anything back and he was getting £47 a week and full rent payed! he said how happy he was and it was the best thing he'ed ever done! he went on to tell me how he come here and it was in the back or a lorry 6 month a go! He was a nice fella , but come on when we get house we don't get anything like that

even after waiting 7 years to get the house!!

we are now the lowest of the low in our own country!

Oi cunty bolllocks  I work at an agency and get lots of people jobs we don't charge £10 and hand over just £6.50 we add a surcharge to the wage THE COMPANY aka the employer want to pay for example on a basic min wage £5.93 we would charge an extra £1 - £1.50 per hour per person this covers their payroll (tax and stamp), advertising for the staff, petrol to run them to work, Holidays, our accounts dept wages, the recruitment consultants wages and still gives the company owner a nice couple of skiing holidays a year   Agencies can be a god send for smaller companies who literally don't have the facilities to organise their own payroll or can't afford to keep paying the charges week in week out for financial or umbrella services

Anybody wants a job I post at least one a day during the week Some well paid some min wage but a job is a job at the end of the day
