mikeyblue 28
Afternoon Lads, After a few long, stressfull days at work I needed to wind down and chill. So after finishing I arrived home, picked up the R10 and my hunting bag, and was straight back out the door headed for my newest permission. I arrived, kitted up and was ready to see what was what. First up, check zero The way I do it is I have some small brightly coloured stickers I brought from Rymans, stick them on a post, and fire from my chosen zero distance. I always keep a sheet of them in my bag. Good news, smack on zero. I stalked through the fields hoping to pick up a bunny for tea, but there was no signs of bugs being out. I decided to head into the yard and do a bit more pigeon clearence to keep in the farmers good books. Just as I got through the gate there was one pearched on the barn roof. I took the shot from 35 yds. Half mil-dot over, a tad of right hand side, and squeeze through the second stage. The pigeon folded, rolled down the roof and dropped to the ground. Went to retrieve it to find a clinical shot impacting through the eye. The farmer then came out for a chat and as we were chopsing another feral landed on top of the barn. It was only about 25yds so I used a bail as support, centered the cross-hair straight on the noggin and dropped number two. Id found a nice little firing point so opted to stay there. Using my bipod on the bonnet of an old Landy was perfect, waiting in ambush. I managed to bag two more before calling it a day. A few more pics for you to get the feel of the day. The R10 resting on the Landy A couple showing the POI And finally the end of day shot. A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours out to unwind. Thanks for reading, all the best lads. Mikey. 2 Quote Link to post
