FerretsAndPokemon 0
Hellooo all Just looking for some advice with my 1yr old lurcher, I know its coming up to the end of the season but this is basically what I want to know; Is there any training I should do with her while out of season?, she just runs at the rabbits obviously they have seen her by that point but anything that I can do to make her more "sneaky" lol How can I stop her from thinking my ferret are another dog she can play with? she's been bitten by them but that makes her think they are playing more :S And where can I find a good template for a permission letter, should I have anything like insurance I wasn't sure cos I know you have to have insurance for shooting but I wasn't sure about dogs or ferrets? Thanks XD (obviously she not 1 in the pic) [/img] Quote Link to post
KittleRox 2,147
Just keep up with basic obedience during the summer, the pup will only learn to become "sneaky" run clever with experience. As for the ferrets when she becomes too rough give her a sharp NO and maybe a wee clip over the backside Quote Link to post
DazAllison 32
Would say the same as roxy! Make sure her general obedience is 1st class also keep working on simple things like retrieving and stock breaking so that when it comes the new season everythings spot on all that needs to come is expeirance and maturity, aknow it can be a pain when a pup just wants to carry on in the field with ferrets other dogs etc but just have some patience mate she will learn with maturity that ferrets are for working not playing! Hope she makes you proud! Quote Link to post
artic 595
Don't worry about her catching rabbits. You haven't stated about her obedience. If this isn't to a satisfactory level, then during the summer months work on this. I.e recall and retrieve. Never rush. There's plenty post's touching this subject in the search box.
