dadioles 68 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Share Posted February 2, 2011 As others have said..... buy a box each of whatever you can get locally and plink away methodically at some paper targets 100 yards away. You will almost certainly find that some makes will load more easily than others and some will give tighter groups. You should be able to land them all within a 1" group at that range off a bipod. It is surprising how the same batch of ammo can work differently in two apparently identical guns. You may find that cheap ammo is better than the more expensive, it is whatever suits your gun. The .17 HMR ammo is more consistent and reliable than 22LR for example, but then it is more than twice the price. Once you have found a round that chambers smoothly and gives tight groups, stick to it. Buy plenty and don't change unless you get a problem. Les Quote Link to post
