Wardyuk 0
Albinos are good for finding in the cover, I have a polecat and a albino, The polecat is a nice looking ferret. Althought ferrets have poor eyesight anyway, i think my albino one has alot worse eyesight than the polecat....They do most their finding with their nose and ears anyway. "Also, some albinos have an abnormality that sends scrambled signals from the eye to the brain, which disrupts binocular vision and the ability to correctly process visual stimuli. Colored ferrets with albino genes (especially cinnamons, dark-eyed whites, and pandas) can also have this albino vision abnormality. " Quote Link to post
ferretmad95:) 0
yeah thats true my dad said that he had an albino that turned out to be totally blind in the end but he use to wrk it and worked really well and to get it out he waved a piece of bacon in a hole lol Quote Link to post
The one 8,456
Ive got a sandie ,silvers ,albinos and bew's and one polecat? i just like the lighter coloured ones when im working a few Quote Link to post
CarraghsGem 92
i found polecats to be better workers myself, albinos ive found more docile and the 2 silvers i had werent much good at anything, if i was to get another ferret it would be a neutered albino hob and ive never had much luck with sandys, wouldnt have 1 again! Ideation 8,216
This thing about poleys being better workers, albinos being more docile. . . . well you get albino/poley from the same litter - so i dont think you can use color as any kind of guide to behaviour. I have albinos, poleys, silvers, sandys (by accident of breeding rather than choice)most of which are related and all work as well but in different ways (more to do with individual personality, size and sex than color). To the O.P - Greyhound ferrets are not tiny. 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,456
Got to agree with you mate you get all colours in a litter and it dont matter half as much as how they graft ,its just with the seasons changing and the cover being here ealier and lasting longer i prefer light coloured ferrets in case one slips out and i dont notice it you usually pick it up by the colour moving about wheres as a polecat doing that might be mistaken for a shadow Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
If i had to choose a colour them my choice would be Albino... Quote Link to post
