bobby-b 1
I have only had my dog a few months as he was known to the police where I got him from and the owner was waiting prosecution. My wife told me not to get him micro chipped in case he accidently slipped his lead somewhere he shouldn’t be. I had a long think about it and I got him Micro chipped anyway. I know some of you might think im daft but I thought at least if he gets lost I had more chance of getting him back and he wouldn’t get caught without me anyway Quote Link to post

Moll. 1,770
Mine are chipped and ear tattoo'd (most of them) cant get anyone local to tattoo anymore! The way i see it, a dog you have spent much time training and nurturing, who works well for you and you want to keep it, then do everything you can to lessen the chances of it getting lost or stolen. Accidents do happen, dogs might chase things they are not supposed to. I would rather have a bit oif hassle for that then have to start all over again with a pup, which you dont know will turn out as good as the dog you lost cos you couldn't be arsed to chip etc Quote Link to post
CarraghsGem 92
i was thinking of chipping all my pups the next time i need to breed a litter, that way if they are dumped or rehomed by their new owners + end up in the pound or a rescue i can get them back and contact their owner to find out what the f**k is going on! all my own dogs have just been chipped after the recent theft of my lakie x bitch Quote Link to post

hickymick 37
how much dose it cost to chip a dog?Do you think it should be done to every dog or would that be just another way to make,£££££nd stop poaching or hunting as some dogs get lost on permish and end up miles away?atb mick Quote Link to post
southcott 9
mine are all chipped it cost between £10 to £15 a dog Quote Link to post
Shazza 52
I charge £12/chip and a one-off petrol fee of £5 if i come to you (within 20 miles of home). I will travel further for more fuel money. I often do litters of pups or several adult dogs, most people will get a mate or 2 to bring over thier dogs so they only pay one petrol cost and get them all chipped together. Quote Link to post
Snifferboy 659
Got mine done although I am sure that if someone was to steal her they would end up finding it and cutting it out. But there is always the chance of being reunited so it is a worthwhile thing to do. Quote Link to post
