hey lads any of you regularily ran your whippet or whippet crosses on hares preban of course or would most of hold the opinion that whippets are too small

 

i ask as my tiny whippet beddy x whippet collie whip hound 15 tts seen one now i had him on the lead his pace surprises everyone and his staying ability so it just got me thinking

as im sure your aware circumstances often dictate things from time to time and seen as i was beside a busy road slipping a dog on a hare wouldnt be a very clever idea anyone got an input worth reading

And those are the wrong circumstances, If you had mentioned roads in your post my reply would have been quite different.

Why though ask what you think a small whippety dog can do behind a hare when you have a small whippety dog that you could put behind a hare AND ANSWER THE QUESTION FOR YOURSELF BEFORE ASKING IT...........

think most lurchers will catch the odd day time hare mooching about without the slipping distance of the fens because fields are small here. my first x col whip retrieved 1 day time and 1 on lamp by keeping it away from the gates they usually head for and catching it just before it hits cover
