Can permission cause more headache for you than a poaching charge?

Recommended Posts

Some of my mates won't have permission, they say it causes too much grief haha falling out with other dogmen is there main concern, this is my land stay away and all that, haha or when it's their permission they think there being like police asking people to stay off their land haha they say it's better off arguing with the police if ye unlucky enough to get caught. Has having permission on certain places caused you a headache?

I've had bits and bobs of premission in the past (i may still have some??) but for me it wasn't worth the hassle. Not that it was plagued with others, just that the land-owners wanted results every time and when there wasn't much on in the first place it became a pain to both travel and do a 'job'.

The right permission would be priceless but until i find it, i'll stay as I am..!

yea but for diffrent reason mate, local council.i do a couple of cemeterys for them, but the bloody rules is annoying.only ferret them like, but its the amount of explaining you have to do to the public.tbh i could see it far enough, but its handy for bunnies as its crawling with rabbits.the damage they are doing is unreal.you would think the mourners would be gratefull, but they have more sympathy for the rabbits than there loved ones flowers and collapsing gravestones.cant dig, cant shoot can only go at certain times.

When its a pure pest control permission it can definatly be a pain in the aris !!!

As we all know every rabbit the farmer/landowner see's means he's infested and they want to see big numbers taken and you out everyday of the week .

I have one where i go as i please , it's not a numbers game to me and i am left to me own devices and if i want to just catch one then thats great.

Its also nice to have a name to put forward if your ever challenged about why their is a load of coneys or the odd canny in ya boot :tongue2:

It's good to have permission as long as the land owner don't expect a clearance job. Went on some with a mate ( his permission) a couple of weeks ago with the dogs and the farmer came out for a walk to see the dogs run he was impressed with my mates dog ( my pup was just watching) but wanted a corn field sorted out properly.. My mate went back with the ferrets on the weekend and air rifle in the week to sort it. It's a bit of effort to keep them happy sometimes but I suppose you can have a night out without worrying about a pull sometimes

permission can be a pain in the arse sometimes,

see if someone decides to drive over the stewardship edges or through the crop its the farmer who phones the lad or lady, lol with permission 1st,

and not bein funny if i ever used to get stopped i always said lad in trcktor last week said i could do the rabbits..............but when you on permission all the farmers know of you around and you have to be a lot more carefull esp if you drive.
