gurtwurz 792
hi mate, it might be worth asking the lads on the BSAowners group website, they'll help you out with any questions. as far as i know(i've never owned a super10) you could always send it to john bowkett for blueprinting(he designed it in the first place i think) and that'll get you a cracking gun, but like i say, check the BSAOG, theyre a good bunch of lads and know their stuff. cheers, wurz Quote Link to post

Some say they are a little heavy as compare to more modern rifles but I don't find it a problem at all. Quote Link to post
dougie_s410k 1
The Mk3 superten is a superb rifle as is the carbine and the Bull Barrel versions, alot of BSA rifles favour heavy pellets dur to the barrels so in .177 they tend to favour Barracuda match/Bisley mags, although they do vary. John Bowkett is a good option but chrono the rifle on return as i have had 4 rifles blue printed and 3 returned over 12.4 ftlb withthe recommended pellets and he charges for postage back to correct this so costs you another 50 quid if this problem arises! Hence the reason I reduced the powere myself on the last two guns. A Tench regged Ultra is a good gun also, high shot count and very consistant! The ultra is ideal for 4x4 shooting but i tend to favour the super ten all day for build quality and practicality mate. Quote Link to post

An Ultra isn't a spinger at all, it's a PCP. Tough choice though. I've had a SuperTen before, and it was excellent- regretted selling it ever since, until I bought my R10 in 2009. I also have an Ultra Tactical single shot in .177, and I absolutely love it too. Deadly accurate, light as a feather, incredibly well balanced and with an HW moderator on the end, practically silent. You'll have to weigh up what suits you best - you'll definitely get a higher shot count from the SuperTen, but if you're a fan of .177, then maybe stick to what you know and get the Ultra. zini 1,939
Easy to answer really pal. If you want the looks, a high shot count, better and faster cocking system and a medium weight rifle then the Super10 is the one for you. If you want a rifle to be a work horse (hunter) which you dont mind the odd scratch from time to time, to be very lightweight and well balanced, to be used in small places and very quiet but dont mind the slower cocking system then the Ultra is the one for you. Accuracy wise, Id have to be proven wrong for someone to say that one is more accurate than the other. At the end of the day both rifles are extremely good. There both BSA PCPs so will be accurate as the BSA barrel is fantastic. If you get a Ultra though it may be worth getting it Tenched to give you better consistancy over a longer period and more shots per charge. Best of luck. millsy44 72
I got the S10 mk2 carbine in .22 3 months ago and i love it mate, high shot count and very accurate (in the right hands) Abit on the heavy side but IMO if you cant carry 8lbs with both hands then you shouldnt be shooting lol Quote Link to post
