Bone42 41
Hi all..I'm new to this forum.I have an 18 month old mhh and my mate has a younger fhh.both have never really seen other hh before and are having a go at each other when we take them out together..Any ideas on how to make them get on a little better? No damage has been done as we've been keeping one on the fist whilst the other is free but the odd time they've been off together Theve gone straight for each other and when they see each other the sqawking has been intolerable..thanks.!! mickteesside 1
sadly its not as easy as take to harrises out and let them hunt together they need to see each other day in day out ( best teather out opposite each other ) then take it slowly but there will be some squabbling until the pecking order is sorted Quote Link to post
stoaty1 35
Tether both birds side by side for several days/weeks. Time period will depend on the birds themselves. Make sure they can not reach one another. When they are acting better with one another then try them again. They may squabble but do not take any risks and if they start to foot one another then seperate them and try again. You may want to open up a rabbit and let them feed while attached to their perches, again making sure they can not reach the other. If they will eat on thcarcass without attacking each other then get them out hunting. Remember though some birds are not as sociable as you would like and do not mix. Quote Link to post

CityHunter.uK 12
I was out yesterday and we flew 3 entered females that hadnt been flown together before with no problems. However we were flying from the fist and at bolted rabbits. Still all the other advice with regards blocking out etc. is good advice and should be followed. Quote Link to post
Bone42 41
Yeah we tried em again yesterday from the fist at bolted rabbits too.....mine totally ignored the rabbit did a big arc and dive bombed the other so he's going to stay at my mates for the rest of the week with the other bird - wish me luck.!! EskdaleHawks 8
Day 1.....big improvement.!!! Hi! Not posted for a while. Think about what you are doing and what you are trying to achieve. Then the best possible way, to go about getting the required result. You can have the birds flying free together within an hour, without any mishaps if you think about it. Edited February 4, 2011 by EskdaleHawks 1 Quote Link to post
MickyB 327
this is just an a idea HH are naturally social if you can get them to eat together and they squabble maybe let them fight it out (unless it starts getting dangerous) it might just be dominence once they get a pecking order after they av bit of a scuuffle, female probs come out on top, cast established! kevk 12
Some times young females. Show signs. And make fight. To older birds because they still askin there partents for food. Best way fix it get them both plenty of kills and bow them next to each other but can't react each other. Quote Link to post
