borntoshoot 1
Hi guys, havent posted for a while due to lots of college assignments and various sh1t going on so appologies for tht. As some of you may know I am at Sparsholt college doing a game and wildlife managment course My reason for the post is that me and a few mates frm my course signed up for a 3 hour a week course in animal first aid focusing on dogs, cats and ferrets and we had our first session today and i got the feeling we pissed off the lecturer a tad because we were discussing wound cleaning and dressing and through the whole 3 hours we were just telling her how any minor cuts to do with working dogs can be solved with superglue either temperarily or perminantly and she said its innapropriate. I have personally used it on my patterdale X border that I use for bushing and when ferreting on torn ears, cut pads and small skin tears on his back but was wondering how many of you guys use it and if not why you dont. Cheers. Jake Edited to add the lecturer is a fit as fcuk vetinary nurse haha Edited January 26, 2011 by borntoshoot

irishnut 297
never used it on dogs yet, but i certainly would, just don't glue the entire gash, leave a hole for puss etc to get out. i've used it to fix myself on many occasions with no ill effect
tearem 31
I have heard there is some sort of wound glue in existence, didn't know one could use superglue, I thought it could be poisonous. In the field, I use a special stapler for cuts. The dogs can't remove the staples so well as stitches from thread.

Lab 10,979
Been told by a vet (who shoots and works dogs) that its perfectly fine. Got to make sure that there are now hairs pointing into the wound though when you glue it..
