barneyboy 1
pure salukis are ok if you like pure salukis but cant be compared to old fashioned coursing stock what have used salukis in past and now have more stamina and pace and determination than any pure. its taken good men to breed good coursing stock for uk fields and fens so i dont see teh point in going to pure now. i have owned one pure and to say they are ignornant and not very intelligent is false just cos they they dont sit down and roll over doesnt mean they are thick there intellingence is quite under rated. barneyboy 1
just read all posts.i ran a red merle collie x bitch 3/4 hancock bred.man a loved that bitch.25 years ago.she taught me along the way.we were everywhere day n nite.thought this is the cross.met a boy 2 halfxsalukis.as much as i loved my bitch.my eyes were openend to the future.sundrae breeds do what they do if the handlr spends the time to train it.hats off to that man / woman.I would only keep and run salukix dogs have done for bout 20 years.IF you can train them THEY bring the real deal to the table.day or nite. barneyboy 1
dont think the saluk is as good an allrounder as some of the colie type ive kept and definitly not as good as some of the saliki collie type , but i have had some realy good and some it wasnt there to be put in to them all depends the standard you need to pull game etc and the type of saluk cross you keep saw lots some will never be good obeidence others spot on Quote Link to post

barneyboy 1
relentless .you can run the saluki xs as much as you want.if touch wood your dog never took an injury while out n about you have the most hard graftr in my opinion out all the breeds .run hunt up never COCK OR SING plenty fire too again if you understand and pay homage to said dog.the breed aint letting you down.here ends the lessons.
