millsy44 72
Hiya boys, ive been sitting all day today watching the rain bouncing off the pavement, Im in the process of giving my 3 favourite permissions a rest as ive been hitting them pretty hard over the winter and im up at one of them on saturday to have another go at clearing the cattle barns, plus my 3 favourites are 45 minutes drive from me and i just fancied a quick hour while the rain had stopped, A quick call to my mate who works security on a caravan site near me and im on my way out the door with the S10 over the shoulder, This site is literally 5 minutes drive from me and my mate assures me i should bag one or two bunnies as he's been watching 5 or 6 from the control room feeding under the bush edges to escape the rain but still fill their stomachs, its been raining all day and this is the first break in the weather so im guessing they'll be pretty hungry, Got to the site, and was met by alex, who punched in the code to lift the barrier, he gives me the option to either shoot from his cabin or just drive laps with the car using my headlights, i opted for the car, but not before having a quick cuppa and a catch up, alex can see that im itching to get out, and tells me to have fun, he also tells me the only people using the site are builders that are staying there whilst working on a nearby site but not to worry because theyve had a walk to the pub and he will let them know im there when he lifts the barrier for them when they come back. Right lets get cracking!! Rifle out of the boot and out of the slip, tin of air arms on the passenger seat, spare mag in the ashtray and a full mag slipped into the gun Cushty, Ill start at the back of the land and make my way back to the cabin, roughly about 5 acres worth of land here and usually see about 15/20 rabbits on a drive round, Now my car is new and as people who drive will know, new cars have a "seat belt" warning light and loud continuous siren that goes off constantly untill the seat belt is fastened this would scare buggsy so i had to lean forward and plug the belt in and have it digging inmy back for the next hour!! lol never mind, my first sight of a rabbit soon made me forget about it There he was, about 25 yards just in the edge of the headlight beam, i slowly pulled forward with full left hand lock on to make an angle from the drivers side window to the rabbit, hes about 22 yards now, up comes the stubby S10 carbine, and i perch the buddy bottle snuggly onto the wing mirror, Zoom the scope out, for some reason its on full mag i take it down to 6x mag and settle the cross hairs onto the kill zone, deep breath in and slow exhale, and release THWACK!! Number one in the bag with a solo twitch from its back legs, quick retrieve and buggsy is in the boot, im on my second lap before i see my next victim, this ones a bigger bunny and hes standing on his hind legs, this ones close, i estimated 12/14 yards, bolt pulled back and another air arms into the breech, cross hairs settled onto the KZ and release...................Why is it just looking at me......... I forgot my hold under School boy error, bolt back and another pellet into the barrel, but hes not hanging about, What a tool!! Not to worry another bunny had popped out in the hedge line about 50 yards down so i slowly drive closer, i get to choose the distance this time and stop the car 25 yards from him (my zero distance) again creating a shooting angle, this will be a through car shot and out of the passenger window, I get my breathing right and with my elbow rested on the back of the folded down passenger seat i gave another air arms diablo its wings, straight down with a clinical head shot, two will do me tonight as its starting to spit again, Another quick cuppa with alex and im on my way home with two plump bunnies in the boot, My S10 carbine is lovely for using in the car Heres the photos Hope you enjoyed the read lads, i try to make them as detailed as possible so you lads can imagine exactly what it would be like if it was you there taking the shots 3 Quote Link to post

I made sure the mirrors were clear darcy n matt lol i even had to double check id rolled the window down for the through car shot lol cheers lamping boy Adam just keep trying with the permissions mate, youll get there in the end Quote Link to post
smoggyadam89 2
Hopefully matey still in talks with one he's unsure because he let someone shoot there before but ignored his request to not shoot the pheasants. So you can see my problem he thinks all airgunners are the same although he's slowly coming round to it. The perms a golf course and only 10 mins from my house so this is the one I really want to tie down. Quote Link to post

DarrenTaxi 0
Hi there Just wondering why you drove round with the seatbelt sticking in your back ? It must have been uncomfortable ! Quote Link to post
jackinbox99 41
Cant beat a carbine for in car use, ive had quite a few out of the side window. Only challange you sometimes have is whilst you can see the bunny in front of you, you have to position your car so you can shoot from either the drivers window (wing mirror is ideal rest), or throught the car and out the passenger window! Ive been tempted to use the sunroof to be honest the missus wouldnt like me getting footprints on her seats. lol. Quote Link to post
BBB 7
mlllsy is that over the barrage Quote Link to post
millsy44 72
Hi there Just wondering why you drove round with the seatbelt sticking in your back ? It must have been uncomfortable ! If you dont put the seatbelt into the holder and you move the car an alarm sounds constantly untill you fasten it lol Quote Link to post
