chesterhunter 4
Pike fishing all year round RIP Ladybower Why? The biggest killers of pike is us anglers FACT so when the pike are getting hammered all year round it is what we call predator massacre.plus add to the fact that ladybower levels drop in the spawning season for pike resulting in there spawning areas to be above water this is why ladybower will never be the water it should be.add the fact that they are going to be pressured all year round will see this fishery dissapear as a pike fishery mark my words.im not saying its never going to do big fish cos you will get the odd one but gone are the days when you see fish of the quality that nev has caught there Quote Link to post
kingkeeper21 2
the levels do drop in the summer but thats no different to every res that feeds a cities water demand the water levels last year held good while the pike spawned. the bigest problem the pike face is the robbing poaching foreign fuckers that still think there at home and can take what they like. the pike season starts a week after the trout season finishes and runs right through till march. unfortunatly for some the pike fishing is run on a season ticket basis only thats mainly because of time restraints of the manager and the baliffs during the winter its a big maintainance job to get all the boats and all the other equiptment cleaned and stored ready for the following year. fly fishing is on day ticket, season ticket, half day ticket, and full and half day sporting tickets. t Quote Link to post
Ratter69 83
I'm glad someone has taken over Ladybower, it hasn't fished great the last few times I've been, just needs a boost, hope your mate does well, wish him luck from me! Quote Link to post
poacher3161 1,766
Its a place ive always wanted to fish but like dam flask not far from their i bet its an hard challenging water wich makes fishing for pike that more intresting imo .Good luck with the venture. Quote Link to post
rocko 5
Fished here for the trout got talking to new owner he is sound as a pound we soon caught our bag limit from boat down raspberry bay NRA were patrolling the res for licence dodgers and foreign thieving b*****ds should be a good season this year on there Quote Link to post
