SeanTheHawker 0
out on tuesday night, got one very soon, took him offand went on to catch no more didnt bring the camera either so headed out last night, rolf was 1lb 5.5, perfect. mate had to be home at 1 so we headed out at 8:30, arrived at the farm and out in the field for 10. first field, there was a rabbit right in the bushes, slipped rolf anyway, it ran up the hedge, rolf missed it and then it crossed the field to the far hedge, hit it, but didnt get a good footing. really good flight tho. next field produced another slip, the rabbit got into the bushes before rolf did lol. had another slip in that field, but the wind just lifted rolf, and he down a u turn back to the glove. into the next field was a rabbit sitting a good 100 yards from cover, slipped rolf, he missed it, then it headed for the ditch, didnt think rolf could get on to terms with him but he did, smacked him right at the ditch, ran down to find him one side of a fench, while teh rabbit was on the other side, crossing under a run. just as i went it the thing kickded him loose lol. what a shame. but thats how it goes. then went into this lovely long long field, but narrow, maybe only 100 yards wide. into the field we seen a rabbit in the middle between both hedges, ran chased, the rbabit ran into the hedge we were at,rolf must had hit it 2 or 3 times, before it got through a big gap udner some fenching. rolf actually chased it under, but no chance lol. carriedon down the field, musta seen abother half a dozen in this field, but couldnt get within 150 yards of them, all starting to get very cute. then a squatter! right in the middle between 2 hedges, didnt wanan get to close, incase he missed and was left watching the ran speed up a gear, got within baout 30 feet and slipped him. wallop! but it wasnt a rabbit, or was a bloody woodcock. that was first lol. not our intended quarry, and not really a decent flight. but it suited us all, rolf needed a reward seeing as it was his first woodcock, wind was picking up and mate needed to get home. sorry about the quality of the pic, was very dark, and brightening it reduced the quality lol Quote Link to post
