Shooting at Whaplode

Right all of you flat footed fen hoppers (I was born in Ely so I can say that), there is a lovely little range at Whaplode Drove, just in the Lincs border so easily reached from King's Lynn, Wisbech, March, Peterborough, Whittlesey, Boston, Spalding, that sort of area. Time to describe the facilities, car park, gravel with puddles (mind you after the rain we have had I am surprised you don't need a boat round there)! They have a club house, with refreshment facilities and toilets (both male and female), they are actually fitting showers too! The range itself, there is a shooting shelter, which protects from 3 sides and has a shelf along the front. They have a variety of field targets and target boards and traps. The boards are at various distances and have been well whacked with pellets. It is also recommended that you take your own staples and staple gun (that is from personal experience). There is a picnic bench, chair and 2 bins for rubbish in the shooting shelter.

 

There are also clay pigeon ranges to the left of you and to the right so loud noises are to be expected. They also have a tower for clay pigeon shooters as well), not to mention fishing lakes! But the people are friendly, facilities good and the prices are great. The price? Only £5 for a days air rifle shooting, thats right, a day! Coffee £1 a cup, ok so that's for instant, but on a cold January day you do not care, it is fresh, hot and very drinkable! The address is:
