shepp 2,285
Sorry to hear about that mate, good luck. Quote Link to post
Shazza 52
Really sorry to hear that, hope the pups OK. Vets are a joke sometimes, an Emergency or out of hours call is because the owner is worried enough to want to see a Vet immediately which includes the hefty emergency fee. Lets face it, most of us who have kept dogs know ourselves when something can wait til tomorrow or needs to be seen straight away so they should see your dog if you want them to. Quote Link to post
rocky1 942
keep us informed mate ,was it the pdsa that refused or proper vets ,if was the latter then they should have made time for you ,and as for pdsa the dog has 2 be dieing before them take a look dureing closeing ours ,hope shes 100% soon, edited ment 2 say pdsa not rspca Edited January 26, 2011 by rocky1 Quote Link to post

Hannah4181 260
im confused, why would you phone the rspca? Just what i was thinking ........... i find it really hard to believe that vet's 24 HOUR emergency service, wouldn't see the dog. Its good business for them if nothing else. Maybe i am just used to exceptionally good vets? Quote Link to post

Maybe i am just used to exceptionally good vets? Not everyone is lucky enough to have good vets. I know when my nans dog suffered a heart attack at 10pm on a Saturday night the vet did not want to come out to it. Eventually agreed to meet them at the surgery after 20 minutes arguing on the phone and the dog died in the car on the way there, they still got charged £75 for getting the vet out after hours even though she never touched the dog as it was too late then Quote Link to post

scothunter 12,609
ALWAYS CHECK WHATS IN THE FIELD BEFORE SLIPPING THE DOG EINSTEIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats not always feasible, also what if he leaves one field and moves on to another? Also its pretty hard to see dangers in the pitch black. Country Joe 1,411
ALWAYS CHECK WHATS IN THE FIELD BEFORE SLIPPING THE DOG EINSTEIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always found time to walk my lamping ground, checking for branches, farming machinery etc, As lamping, and day work can be a dangerous game, Maybe goes back to my longnetting as I always walked the set I was going to net during the day, picking up twigs that could tangle in my net. It would maybe be different if you didn't have permission, then you just have to take your chance. Quote Link to post
