id have to be in some seriously shitty circumstances to buy in an adult dog         i dont think peopel relise how much it actually helps, if ye raise the pup yaself

na ye aint readin it right, i have said only a mate would get mine,....   an if i wa sthat hard up,.... id only take 1 off a mate..............     so friendship would be the price, cash an dogs

way i see it whin, if i wanted a pup, id breed 1, if i couldnae afford to cover the cost of stud, meds, feed an any extra costs that could occur i wouldnae breed..............simples...........   wh

my guess is that lamping is a hobby for the vast majority on this site.i mean how many of you rely on it for an income.if you needed a dog to provide this income by culling vermin then you need a good un.600 squid would not be out of the question.if youve spent a good while [years]building up permission for a pass time you all claim to love so much and you need to keep vermin down to keep this hard earned and very very hard to come by permission.surely this is a fair enough price if the dog does the biz.the initial buying price of a dog never really bothers me if i want it ill have it.its the price of careing for it and vets bills for the next??????yearsthat gets me worried.

I'd personally pay upto 250 for a pup, of good dogs ones that I'd seen work a few times,as for an adult dog if I really wanted it,and it was my type of dog then I'd go further so long as it passed every test I wanted, not the previous owners.

I agree that there is nothing more satisfieing than bringing a pup on but needs must and all that, i have a bullx that i was offered £1000 for and turned it down, that same dog now resides in my yard living out his retirement, when i found myself without a dog to run on due to unforseen circumstances i paid £500 for a bitch from a mate and he done me a favour in my opinion, then i have 5/6 seasons of top quality dog work/lamping.....Bargin, in these circumstances.

so it looks like £200/£300 is the average price people think a working lurcher is worth. intresting that.

Average price for an average dog,if you look again ye will see people are prepared to pay a lot more, they be the people who know the true value of a proper good honest lamper, a dog someone has put a lot of time and effort into,if ye had to put value to it they are worth a lot more it's 2011 now ,things are dearer now than ten or twenty years ago two or three hundred don't go far, pups are that to buy now
