skycat 6,173
I just give new straw bedding a spray with Acclaim or Indorex to kill any fleas/ticks. Make sure to change often enough or it gets damp and musty after a week if the dog goes in wet. Creates a lot of dust so be sure to clean kennel out well when changing bedding: I hoover the kennel after sweeping up the straw. Might seem a hassle, but doesn't take long. Some people put a layer of shavings in first and you can also get eucalyptus shavings mixed with chopped hay: smells nice LOL IMO shavings on their own don't provide a warm enough bed.
