:icon_eek: Talk about Topical! How's This?!

I had to get into town this afters. So I've gone up to the road and got my thumb out. Bloke's pulled over and offered me a lift. K? So, like ye do, before hopping in, I've swept the seat and foot well ~ it's bad policy to sit on or tread on a mans forgotten bits and pieces!

There, in the foot well I spot a Lamp! In I get. " Lamp? Do a spot, do ye, mate? " He does indeed. " Funny, " says I, " I've just come out of a forum where we're discussing those damn 'Lightforce' Lamps. Seems to me they're for ever needing f*cking repairing. Wiring breaks down every five minutes. "

Guess what this bloke says? " That's a Lightforce, mate. And it's F*cked! F*ckin wires pulled out here - see? " And shows me where the wires, going into the bottom of the handle, have come out!

Like I said above; I know Jack Shit about Lamps. Seldon got to use one. But, my god, how many flies does it take??? I, for one, will certainly NEVER buy one of these " LightFarce " jobbys! No Way! :icon_eek:

Dell computers and Lightforce lamps? I don't have room for them!

had a laser for donkeys years and i've upgraded to blaser for the last couple of years or so... never ever ever have i had a problem with either 2 lamps, and they have been through it all... the only thing i would like to see is a device to narrow and intensify the beam... the secondary bulb means you never have to go home in the dark and if the beam could be made to open and close then lightforce would be out of biz lol...

Never had any trouble with lightforce lamps, except the first one I had that had a glass front that was always breaking, but had a better beam than the modern ones.

Do lightforce do battery packs or are they put together by Deben, its cheaper to go to your local battery supplier than pay for one of their battery kits and the less connections the better less to go wrong. I hook my lamp up straight to the battery and have only had one bulb blow because of the lack off a fuse.

i dont use a fuse bobby radman who makes head lights for anglers uses plastic pading on his battery terminals it sets hard and the wiers wont pull out coupled with a cigar socket and plug taped up u wont have no problems

Ive the type that goes around the waist with 2 batteries. The past 4 times out lamping one thing or another has gone wrong, wires burning out, disconnecting, tonight it was the red wire which leads into the plastic fuse case came out

A mixed night, bunnies out in groups near to the hedges, but hares absolutley all over the place :icon_eek:

First field 3 rabbits out around a corner...i was too quick to release and lamped the 1st one making its way to the set instead of the last one...none caught.

I lamped one bunnie in a field and there had to be at least 12 hares in the same field (no exageration) The hares are not lamp shy either so get right in the way of a nights rabbit lamping....i lost the dog twice as he went after them, had to switch the lamp off and wait till he looses the scent, which can be quite a while when they pop up all over the place :censored: .... 3 yrs ago i would'nt believe we would be complaining about too many hares :o

Got into another field very quietly switched on the lamp...no power, i had to go back out the gate to the car to see what was what, opened the fuse case and it went back on when i closed it but by this time they had all heard me and disapeared...this happen again later. Then the tape holdong down the connectors onto the battery pack came away, and twice after climbing a fence the connectors had come undone

After the field with all the hares walking the road back to the car spotted 2 rabbits out in another field, the field is on a steep hill and i lost him out of the beam. Walked the road again and at the end of the same field tried another which went into a set (i know its called a warren but i always call it a set ) i was not aware of in a tree roots (ill have a look at that with the furts soon)

I just had quick looks in the next couple of fields, ive never seen any rabbit in before and the set is over the road. None in the 1st two then spotted one out alone, not even reacting to the lamp, got over the fence and you've guessed it the connectors came apart again  Pitch black dark, couldnt get them back together because the tape was getting in the way...Khan decided he didnt want to jump the fence cos he was still knackered after the hare escapade and i could hear him trotting down the road  Next thing i know he is by my side sensible lad had gone to an easier place, and the lamp suddenly glowed into action....my first bit of luck all night the daft rabbit was still in the same place totally oblivious! Slipped by now a very tired Khan, a short run and he caught it as it tried to get through the hedge, then the lamp went off completely <_< I had to use the flash from my camera to see the gate to get through and back to the car. So pleased it held out though till he made a catch, he deserved it after the marathons he ran tonight

not impressed with them belt packs,i bought one 9 months back, first the belt keept coming lose, then the pouches burst the seems, then the wiring went, and at last the f :censored: g batteries lasted minutes.also very uncomfortable around the waist moving about all the time, now i tried rewiring it directly to a large battery, still got fuse but no ciggy plug to burn out just the 2 pin thingy as connection, and as some one on here suggested i carry it in a rucksack, well easy ,and room for a few bunnys also.

never had a problem with mine..as soon as i got it ..14.amp..two batteries.170...i taped them together round the sides of the batts so the wires dont have any strain on them .put a hole in your ruck sack then thread the ciggy socket threw the hole then connect and tape up ..make the hole as tight as poss ...i sit my batteries in a old hat so the corners of the batts dont dig in my back...once jump over a wall and the fecking corner smacked me in the bottom of the back :censored: ..so i always put a bit of padding round... .when there round your waist thet bang up and down ..or get in the way..then they split... :censored: ..the way i do it now seems the best way for me ..its 18 moths old and never had a prob..yet fingers crossed  ...

This is what I use to carry my batterys, keeps the wiring out the way and you just do not feel the weight of 2 batterys at all.

I only plug in to 1 batt at a time and when you need hands free just hang the lamp over the back of your neck.

Oh....and it very easy to do a runner carrying batts like this! :D

Not that I need to do a runner of course as I have vast amounts of permission ;)

If your sealed gel batteries start to lose performance, put them in the freezer for a few hours...back to room temperature...charge 'em up again, and hey presto!...good as new again. :)
