Guns have been smuggled in like everything else illegal for years.

mattydski 560
I think the point that the OP was trying to make, is that banning Handguns does not stop handguns being used in crime. It will not stop people getting shot with Handguns in the UK.................Which is surely why they were banned in the first place... to prevent them being used to hurt or kill people.................. Guns are still in society and just as before, the majority of crimes and killings will be commited with Ilegally held pistols/firearms, not legal firearms.. Its just one more civil liberty taken from the people of this country, that the rest of the world wouldnt tolerate, let alon give up without a fight. If all firearm users had stood together at the time, they wouldnt have been banned. BUt it was a case of "well is doesnt affect me" attitude that allowed the ban to be enforced... Sorry.................rant over...........
RicW 67
Gun crime has increased since the ban on private ownership of handguns. On the other hand, professional crims don't run amok and massacre people at random.
Boysie 12
It's the youth gangs that is the problem, little low life wannabe gangsters watching Danny Dyer films or listening to 50 Cent trying to prove they're hard and mature by having a gun.

So far, post Hungerford, long mag shotguns are FAC only, semi auto CF rifles are illegal. Post Dunblane privately owned handguns are illegal. As Mattydski has said, we need to get together. There is an agenda which wants to see all private ownership of guns banned. To coin a phrase, when only the rulers have guns the ruled will be defenceless. Arm the unemployed. At the taxpayer's expense.
