One of the greatest brood bitches in the history of Non-Ped Whippet racing was a bitch called "Young Lucy"; she was mated to various sires; Biko, Blue Fawn and I think, Good as Gold. She threw many Racing Champions and some of the best Scratch Dogs ever ! She was variously described as being Collie/Grey, and Whippet x Collie/Grey; but one thing is certain; she had pleanty Collie in her !! I bought a pup from A. Pickup in 1972, by "Darly Fly" a Bilko dog, and out of "Susan", (Blue Fawn x Young Lucy). Apart from being a top class racer, he was also one of the best "Lurchers" I've had, until he met an untimely death, being shot by a 'keeper while out hare coursing ! So, for sure, way back in the Non-Peds is a few other breeds apart from Whippet and Greyhound !

Cheers.

YOU stop trying to start on a argument in a so far non argument topic (so far ):laugh::thumbs::thumbs:

in alot off ways u have apoint yes they were sort off lurcher,s before they were longdog,s and highly tuned for speed (just whips and greys-- but thats not a bad thing,,)

ive been invited out in 2weeks with my grews,,,,ill take my old white one ,,,and they might be a few more recent pic,s off him then ,,,ill take my pocket cam corder with me ,,,but iam sh@te with it but ill try,,,,if there,s game to be had on the day,,,ill see if i can get few pic,s up,,,,iam one off them non ped racers that aint shy ,,,off giving my racers a go at game ,,,far from it ,,,its in my blood ,,there was 3 gamekeeper,s in my family (we were not the best ,but its in our blood i,e hunting ):thumbs:

(pll,s with grews dont arugue,,,,as they are ,,,what they are ,,,quick take off (rockets on speed ) some fair good ,,,some meet a early grave ,,,but they do what it say,s on tin,,,,,go for it,,,and not the lack off trying ( race or hunt )
