What's the time limit for these horses before they go, if they go to slaughter?

they are booked in at the factory for next monday, im borrowing a horsebox as its a 2hr drive and going down for a look on friday. the main one im taking a look at is the part-broken 4yr old, if shes quiet and is sound theres a good possibility i'll buy her. the second one im taking a look at is the 12yr old brood mare that is supposebly a quiet mare to ride, will give her a test ride and see how she goes.

im also going to contact the factory to check out the story i was given to make sure im not being conned

Is 300-500 more than they would fetch at the knackery ?

What,s a horse carcase worth these days ?

Nobody wants to make a loss these days and will sell for the highest return!

You might just be paying too much ??

i used to show in hand and breed show ponys but sold up when i moved into town, miss having a horse around, havent had a riding pony of my own for 3yrs, they dont cost that much when you put it in perspective, i can borrow a horsebox for the short term

a mate of mine will most likely give me a hand to finish breaking her in, hay was around 30 a round bale last i heard, rug will cost 30-40

i'll only buy a basic saddle so that should cost around 200, bridle + bit 40 i also have bits n pieces of gear up in the attic somewhere
