having a bit of a clear out today and came across my old badge. who else from here was there that day in 1998 ,and anybody got any tales ?. When we got to hyde park i saw wee Willie Carson giving it good to a couple of anti's, and in my strong ayrshire accent shouted "Gawn wullie, you tell them wee man". he just looked, and must of thought "who the fcuks that" .

I did the marches, and went down with a mini-bus full, the first time, then coaches full, but i could have taken at least 10 more with me each time,- what really narked me, was that some of the "big" names in dogs, did not go because they said they did not like London. Gobsmacked.

Went on all of them for what good it did :wallbash::wallbash: and i also know quite alot of lads who NEVER WENT :thumbdown: Could the extra numbers of made a difference :hmm::hmm: we will never know.

This is only my opinion but the likes of the Countryside Alliance dropped a Bollock.

For me.....they should of put together a TV programme showing working class Lads/Lasses going out to earn a living then taking care of there Ferrets/Lamping Dogs/Coursing Dogs/Terriers etc after work.....then enjoying there time in the Countryside doing whatever there chosen sport may be.

The General Public thought it was all about ' Ponces on Ponies ' ????

Did them all!! attended the last one (Liberty and Livliehood March) with the "LANARKSHIRE AND RENFREWSHIRE FOXHOUNDS" The Scots all met up and marched as one group! the reception we got from everyone was exceptional! we marched past an army barracks at Hyde Park with Saltire's and Lion Rampants flying! Some Scot's soldiers came out onto their balconies at the barracks and started playing the bagpies that really raised our spirits and our pride as Scots!! I also did an interview for Swiss and Dutch TV, the photo of Clarrie and Sir Johnny Scot in my signature was also taken on that March!!

The biggest disapointment was that the march was'nt on a weekday as it would have brought London to a standstill therefore being more effective?

Tom

Ps: Plummer was on our bus, picked him up at Abbington services!

Had some good times on the marches, but it did us no good at all. :icon_redface: Sadly.

The one that really sticks in my mind is the march through London.

We got off our Coach along with thousands of others and made our way to the starting point.

We crossed the road and it was just wave after wave after wave of people......Cars couldnt move anywhere......actually seen grown Men in tears behind the wheel :cry::cry:
