JohnGalway 1,043
I feel like a change. Currently got a Sako Quad with HMR barrel. Any out of the ordinary choices out there (that are also accurate :pac: ). I know there'll be CZ, Annie, Marlin available. What weight do the Savage Accutriggers break at, are their HMR's good or mediocre? If a heavy barrel (*sighs*) is more accurate, I'm not totally against the idea. Hmm, decisions, decisions. SNAP SHOT 194
john how about trying to make a nice custom stock for your sako, it would be a nice little projsct for you, And something i've toiled with maybe doing myself.. Quote Link to post
JohnGalway 1,043
Nah, if I do anything it'll be a part exchange, or sell the Sako and put the funds towards something new. Quote Link to post

logun 91
hi john, out of interest.is there something about the sako you dont like. Quote Link to post
Colster 1
Browning A-bolt. I'm guessing you meant T-Bolt, if so I agree. A straight pull, decent trigger and very pretty. Only downside (and it's a small one), weaver instead of dovetail rail so the mounts are going to cost a bit more. I got a CZ452 when I bought my HMR and very happy with it but I wish I'd had a look at the Browning at the time. I have an A-Bolt in .243 and love it. Quote Link to post
mattydski 560
Ruger looks a no too bad gun.... http://www.guns.gb.com/new-ruger-77-17-vmbbz-4374-0.html Quote Link to post

thomasc4329 10
Well john dont know why you,d want to change the sako but i,ve a cz 452 varmint cant fault it very good gun apart from the trigger it has a bit of creep but you can get a kit from rimfire magic supposed to be the business. Best of luck with whatever you do john i,d probably keep the quad if i was you Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Get rid of the HMR and get a WMR instead! The new ballistic tipped 30 grain WMR's have the same ballistics as the HMR, but much better down range energy delivery! Quote Link to post
kev1986 0
hi john i just got a cz452 .17 mach 2 had cut down to 16" and fitted with decimeter moderator , now looking at a custom stock ,its quiter than hmr , ammo only £5 a box, same trajectory as hmr out to about 125 yards then does drop off a little bit more , still comming out at 2100fps and really accurate little round well worth a look if you are wanting a rabbit buster with a bit more poke than 22lr Quote Link to post
Hawkeye 1 0
Come on John you know you want an annie they are the best going not cheap but the best out of the box,, You get what you pay for.. :tongue2: Quote Link to post
stillair1 16
Hi John I would try the accutrigger on the rifle you want to buy as they seem variable. On the context that they felt light and clean at the mgf, my mate bought a hb savage laminate and the accutrigger was pants on his, and has been back to the smithy for remedial work to get it right. If you want to fling some money at it, try a Cooper. Or a Weihrauch as another option. Edited January 25, 2011 by stillair1 Quote Link to post
danebrewer10 6
how about Cooper arms - they make some absolutely stunning rifles or Kimber, allong the same lines as the cooper...... Quote Link to post
