pics of pups with carpal varus

Recommended Posts

hi i put a topic up a few weeks ago about mine and my friends pups to see if anyone has any experience on running dogs with carpal varus and if so did they work as normal

the pups have been great for a good few weeks with no problems. mine has now gone flat footed and my friend has gone bow legged again so today iv took some pics for you to see how bad it looks

for those who didnt see my last topic these pups have been to the vets and we have done everything the vet said. this will keep happening till the pups stop growing as fast.

carpal varus (bowing out ) is were one bone in the leg grows faster than the other witch courses the legs to bow until the other bone catches up

That is bad isn't it! All credit to you for sticking with the pup: I'm afraid I wouldn't have had the courage or optimism to do the same as you. Do you know if the bones will be as strong as they should be once the dog is an adult: you say your vet says it will come right, but HOW right? Right enough to work the dog normally?

thanks for the nice comments i will admit iv toyed with the idea a few times to have mine pts or take her back to the breeder. the vet did say they will be able to work depending on how the legs turn out as some adults do still look dodgy so there is no way of knowing until there fully grown

i know it dont make sense me getting a dog for work and not knowing wether it will be able to work or not but im willing to give her a chance and my experience might help others
