PLUMMER TERRIER OF OLD

Recommended Posts

I haven't seen anyone ever say they have "digging" plummers, what i have and what i have seen is we/they have plummers that can have a dig when the oppertunity arises.I've never called my plummers good or "the real deal" what i have done is stick up for the breed when the "real deal men" just mock at us that are giving them a go,just like the "wonder boys" jibe.I like i say would have come down to have a day just to show you a plummer having a go,nothing more, nothing less as unlike these "real terriers" where every lines a winner :whistling: my plummer that i can have a dig with has her faults, but how could i when you think like that of me already and i've never met or spoken to you ever?.Do you ever put up a deer stalking for pricks only offer? and like i say thanks but no thanks.

Bosun 11,yet again a very informed sensible well written post, unlike some of the stupid hearsay prattled on by an ignorant, ill informed bunch of fools that have probably never even owned a working te

fair enough you seen a few not work, so all from all the lines are shit? I've seen a few from that line of springer x you keep be a yard or two back do i think that line is shit , no i don't becaus

pic's on the internet classic, i'll keep my little crossbreds to myself, pictures prove nothing, dog ragging a fox covered in dirt doesn't mean the dogs worked it just means someone took a picture o

They are a joke terrier.

I would place them in the same category as glen of immal, sporting lucas etc.

Yes the occasional one may do a spell underground, but you would have better odds getting a tit wank off cheryl cole.

you obviously have never seen a glen in action ..As foxes are all its legal to dig -how good does a dog have to be - fucks sake ive seen yorkies that worked foxes fairly well..Are there really that many shit dogs out there?

Theres good and bad in every breed-even in every litter some are going to be a lot better than others...mine are working to ground ( i only keep them for digging mainly) ,as did their dam as did her parents--this is my point -people were breeding good terriers before literacy, education etc. were generally available to the population.worker to worker wont go far wrong,,rather than breeding for the right colour, size etc. and hoping they work..

the dog in the pic was about twice the weight of the plummer terriers you see today.

This is only my opinion, but based on my experiences. When the plummers were first around, they were bred to hopefully be digging dogs. Hence the shape/size they were. When the hunting ban came in certain breeders (not all) have changed the look of the terrier, after first promoting the dog as an earth dog they changed tact as they believed at first digging was banned, then realised that the general public would find the thought of a dog killing fox less appealing than a dog killing horrible nasty vermin, so the current plummers you see are skinny long legged, now promoted as ratting dogs...why...MONEY.

Talk is cheap tiny tiger.

If you do indeed have what you say you have, you are in the minority(massively).

The type is still fecked as a genuine digging terrier.

if you are ever over this side of the pond give me a shout for a dig. Id be inclined to agree with you about the breed in general though (from what ive heard)..

try and bring cheryl cole with you for the tit wank as well

 Plummer threads ALWAYS turn into arguments either from the people who like them or the people who hate them! why cant we just accept the fact that eveyone likes different things in a dog and looks for different things from his own dog. yes the breed is more o' less fecked but atleast there are people out there still trying to work it and breed away from the S H I T E!
