Is it legal to try an knock ones head off with a catty Then retrieve with dog Yep, shot and retrieved is the way to go. I get a few like that every year, not as effective as shooting with a rifle or shotty but its so much more satisfying when you get them with a catty! The dogs love it, they'll mark the squirrel and as they circle the tree they sometimes drive it round to your side of the trunk for a shot. Quote Link to post

Beddy-Poacher 30
I've had 12 so far this season with my dog.. Normally get them while out walking her down the woods. I thought it was legal to kill them with dogs as they are vermin and do not come under the hunting ban act? .. Quote Link to post

airbourne 128
me and my lad shot about a hundred last year, my mate has them he said they are very tasty, not tried them my self. once caught you can not release them its not leagle so i believe, so if the dog catches one you would be breaking the law by letting it go. If you took it to the vet injuried i think they have to put to sleep. catch 22. Quote Link to post
