over the years ive met many a man that used tongs and none of them were COWARDS,they know more about dogs and working them than most.Neil I find that statement of yours rather silly and condesending.y

Years ago I seen them used regularly and nearly always by cowards. Used quickly they could be humane but they did tend to get over used and misused. They belong on the scrap heap no matter how valubl

No Jigsaw the owners of strongdogs were just that, the owners of strongdogs. Anyone who keeps strongdogs and thinks that the end of a dig is the way to work them is fooling themselves. If a strongdog

I think between the two of us F/man we know what sportsmanship is, Wouldn't it be great to go back to the 70s & 80s and show the youngsters how it was RUN, With out Tongs and LURCHERS.

I know this post has got away from the original question, but your post is the best response I have seen about this tool.

Different tools, methods, people, dogs we are all on the same side.

No disrespect taken Fionn. We all love the sport i hate to see this time off year coming cause it means its over till next september or there abouts. You must have picked me up wrong as i love to see the younger generation out with the terriers its just that some get lead down the wrong road if you know what i mean. The dogs i keep now vary and some lads on here might not agree with them. There too big or too hard but they suit my needs.30 year ago lads didnt care what breed you kept as long as it worked and i still think on the same lines.I dont know what you keep but if it suits you then feck anyone else.As for big names never bothered me cause ive kept all sorts and put some of the big names to shame with my mutts.ATB KEEP DIGGIN
