storer916 0
does any body know if its possible to cut down the barrel of a spring air rifle and if it is how much does it affect power and accuracy? (sorry for any spelling mistakes) Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
What make and type of spring rifle storer; break barrel? I reckon not much; an inch or so. It's not just about cutting to shorten the barrel and that's it. You have to take into account that a break-barrel has to act as a lever to cock the rifle and the shorter you go the harder the cocking effort becomes. You have to pay particular attention to the re-crowning of the barrel after cutting. Get it wrong and your barrel is scrap. Personally, I'd rather buy a dedicated, shorter carbine like a TX200HC. rabbit.slayer.no.1 3
ive got a theoben evo with what i would call short. as si say the shorter the harder it is to pull. the evo barral is only 2 inch longer then the silincer and some time i find hard to pull where when i had my hw90k it was easy. if you want a shorter barrel get one thats made that way saves messing up the one you have Quote Link to post

HEAD SHOT 1
the barrel is 19inch so really long. any ideas how muh it will cost to have done in a gun shop? More then a carbine barrel costs lol, there robbing feckers. cut it down, get a dremmel and youtube. Its not ruined if you mess the crown up cuz you just re crown it again. Dont go any shorter the 10" its ilegal and before any one say but theobens got 7.5 it is 10+ with silencer and technicly with out the silencer (ILLEGAL)youl lose a tiny bit of power. Dont bother DIY screw cutting though. Quote Link to post
