fresh earth 47
Thought id make the best of the girl and me being of today and got up one of the farms i work to let the pup meet some stock. First thing she come across was a foal he's just coming up a year in april/may right bold wee criter well crush thought she would tank up to his stable and have a deek he is quite content with dogs as im up there daily and he knows all my others so he had a bit sniff at her she had one at him burled in a circle a couple of times then come back. So we moved along to some cattle sheds she was a bit weery of the cattle we walked up the middle my others are quite content again among them and were having a rake to see what they had left one of the bitchs got a mouse. Pup had a bit sniff but was behind me with her tail in her legs when one of the cows decided to do a hairy turn and bounce about. She seemed ok though and not over interested. also had a walk among one of his flocks she was more weery again than interested but one of them had a bit sniff about her and moved on again so all in all a decent wee bit education for her. Its the first iv got her among anything other than horse's with the weather lately but iv no doubts about her plenty interaction and walks among them and she will be ready for schooling late summer/autumn. Black bitch is 4 blue is just about 16 months and the fawn bitch is nearer the 18 months fawn bitch has just started getting a look on the lamp as i dont run mine in 4 inches of ice its just asking for trouble especialy with young over enthusiastic whippets. Blue bitch is still a bit high strung and to good at running in circles to get out on the lamp yet shes getting stuck in about the mooching but everytime yi get in a feild she has to run round the damn thing. She aint been here long and was locked in a pen legs are bald and she like a rake. Was told dont let her of she will run away a thought hmmm will she or is she being a typical young whippet and having a burl so after about 3 days she was happy and coming to me about the yard so turned her out i she bolts right enough round and bloody round then right back in so the poor thing hasny ever had a recall problem just an unexperienced owner. Ill try her on the lamp once im happy with the other bitch but if she aint ready till next season its no problem to me as i have other dogs to use meanwhile. Didnt realise the girl had the camera till we were heading back to the motor so ill get a couple of her among some stock over the weekend she's steadying up to the ferrets nicely to had a nip of the young hob the other day after trying to pick him up needles to say she is less eager to anoy him than the jills now. kris Quote Link to post

fresh earth 47
If had read it all youd have read iv not long got her , I know what you mean though some are bad for keeping weight on i have only had her about a month she was just left in a pen of piss and crap she is still a bit high strung but coming round now. I feed all mine on red mills racer with about 1/4 or 1/2 pound of cooked mince plus a tined plum tomato each plus every 2nd day they get fish either mackril or sardine . The bitch is a picky eater so iv been needing to give her breakfast aswel i wormed her out as she was absolutly crawling with worms and flea's so she will get weight on over the next few weeks. The rest seem to keep the weight on ok but they are decent eaters. she looks lighter than she actualy is if i were racing he she would probably be about right at that weight heres a better pick Quote Link to post

fresh earth 47
Thats what i usualy do just give them plenty till there bout a year old and get them to a fit weight. She should be ok once the better weather comes in and she's getting plenty good grub now so should cum round. Crush is coming on braw let her of the other day and she was sliding all over the damn place so she was back on a leash within minutes lol she's a bloody nasty wee sod to and will not let any of the others near her feed . She is walking to heal no bother so all is well just letting her be a pup for now. Thought id get a pik up of her with the others to give a better idea of her size . kris Quote Link to post
