cookey 1
hi i would not go with any of them unless u are going to shoot under 50 yards i have a deben tracer one and it no good for more than 50 yards it is 200 lumers. i would recommend Tracer LedRay Tactical 700. i also have a Tracer Max Pro (Lithium Polymer) Gunlight [bANNED TEXT] light have a look hear http://www.deben.com...r-gunlight.htmlit will give u a good idea they are dear but if u look around u will get cheaper one,s have a look at this as well http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UltraFire-CREE-R5-LED-1Mode-Flashlight-Tactical-G60-Set_W0QQitemZ160532174692QQcategoryZ16037QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DDLSL%252BSIC%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BIEW%252BFICS%252BUFI%252BDDSIC%26otn%3D8%26pmod%3D180598273567%252B180598273567%26po%3D%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6511721562575220306#ht_3107wt_1063 Edited January 21, 2011 by cookey Quote Link to post
kenny14 656
A similar question was asked on here recently and the replies regarding range varied enormously. I stated that I've recently changed from a lead acid battery to a tiablo A10-G as I wanted to reduce the weight I was carrying, and I'm very happy with it. The range will vary depending on the scopes quality/magnification, but I can see foxes with the naked eye clearly out to at least 250 yards and eye shine to easily double that. I must stress though that I don't use the lamp to scan as the tight beam would make that method a real pain. Quote Link to post
Colster 1
Bear in mind, LED lights don't like red filters. My Ultrafire is good for about 200 yards but put a red filter on it and you'd be lucky to see 20. I'd stick to Halogen or Xenon, it works through mist better than LED too. Quote Link to post
HunterBoyTellEm 0
get an ND3! Theres a new one now ND3 x50! Quote Link to post
Wullz 408
ND3's dont like the cold, as my shooting mate has found out, he's not too happy! Even tried wrapping handwarmers round it, still fades out...we'll have to wait till its a bit warmer to see how it performs. Quote Link to post
orangeeric 2
Clulite Masterlite also has a reputation for poor performance in the cold, but is other wise on a par with the Tiablo and Fenix. I use an Ultrafire C8 XP-G R5 which produces 350 lumen (far more than the Tiablo and Clulite, and with newer technology) and is good to 250 yards on ID. The price is also good - less than half that of the brands mentioned. The point on filters from Colster is valid, but it depends on the filter you put on it, as they will block different wavelengths, so one will need a different filter for LED and Halogen/xenon. I use it on 17HMR and a 270 (having just moved from 243, which I also used it on) - would happily use it on a 204R. 1 Quote Link to post

HUnter_zero 58
The best advise I can give you is DO NOT be taken in by all the advertisement crap you read in the magazines. Bottom line is that only two components really make a difference and that's the type of LED and the reflector, all the other bits are simply there to look nice. I read an advert in an airgun mag, £175 for a 700 lumen LED torch Look on deal extream and you can pick one up for £15 and it's just the same LED & lens as in the £175 but may not look as tactical. I have one firmly placed on my .22rf and it's very good. The only comparison I can give, is the beam is exactly the same as you get with one of the rechargeable 12v hand held lamps that were doing the rounds a few years back. Another worth a look is the MTE red LED torch, good right out to 100 yards with a pure red beam, no filter needed and less that £8 One thing I would say is that the good torches do not use AAA or AA batteries, so you will need to invest in batteries and a charger. I have an LED lenser (police) which I used to think was good, but the 700 lumen (advertised as 900 lumen) kicks ass!and quarter the price John Edited January 22, 2011 by HUnter_zero Quote Link to post

HUnter_zero 58
Any link go them torches mate I need a new 1or 2 cheers Just check out dealextreme, don't get ripped off with UK prices and DONT be fooled by the dealextreme prices either!!!As I say there are only a few high powder LEDS on the market, the cases mean nothing other than for aesthetic purposes. There is no postage charge for dealextreme and as long as you don't order ten in one go, no import tax. Since the advent of the Tesco LED torch boom, I've been an avid collector of these torches and like many started out with the normal LED lenser and such like. The I discovered that these "cheap" torches use exactly the same hardware, the only thing that you must do is make sure that the lens is good and of course set yourself up with batteries and a charger.
