StevoSmith 147
im not one for decoying but i would imagine that a corvid decoy would attract most corvids....im sure someone will correct me on this Quote Link to post
silentshot1 206
Hi buddy To be honest, you may struggle to attract many pigeons with just the two decoys, but there are ways to inprve the odds. You've already id'ed a site where rooks etc. gather on your permission, near dusk. Why not get there before they come in, crack a couple of eggs, leaving them in their shell and put the magpie close to the eggs, on the bank. You'll have to conceal yourself brilliantly and wait. If all works, the crows will come to the eggs and away you go! If you can see a tree that pigeons like to flock to and hold up in at certain times of day on your permission (Sitty tree), loft the pigeon decoy as high as you can into the tree, but clearly visible. put the magpie on the ground or in another tree 20ish meters away and hide agaain. The Pigeons will hopefully be atrracted to your decoy and feel even more confident as they can see a magpie near by. It's trial and error but well worth the effort if it works. Good luck and let us know how you get on. Quote Link to post
