ferretman89 68
well had a good day out. Decided to only take the one jill but wish i had taken two. Came across a set of about 40 holes so netted up what i thought were bolting wholes as i only had about 20 nets with me but i have got 20 more ordered and should be here soon. Anyway collared the ferret with the new mk3 which arrived today. Made sure was all working then off went the ferret. Its the first time i have had her out and was impressed. Within 5 mins a rabbit had bolted but sods law it was a hole that i hadnt netted due to lack of nets. She seemed to work the burrow really well and was always on the move. I could hear the rabbits thuding away so knew they were in their. Sat a bit longer and another bolted yet again from an unnetted hole Was watching the ferret work and you could see the rabbits were just giving her the run around. So think i will head back there tomorrow with the other jill and send them both in. Dont think my nets will arrive this week so i will just try and fill what holes i can with rocks or something. Even though didnt catch was nice to see a few bolt and the ferret was still able to be handled when getting her out which was a bonus Edited January 20, 2011 by ferretman89 Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Aye mate block them in, works a treat, Sometimes with the locator you find one bottled up beneath your blockage Quote Link to post
ryangolding 4
Start to make your own nets, once u get the hang of it,you'll have hundreds of nets, thats what i did mate Quote Link to post
ferretman89 68
well went out again today with my dad, first time he has been out in over 10 years but he still has the brain Tried a first set with my albino jill given to me by keith. First time i have taken her out and she didnt fail. Managed to bolt 3 rabbits but only managed to get the one as netting was hard due to thorn bushes ect. Then moved to another set and sent the albino and pole in together. Sat and waited a few minutes and bolted another. Really impressed with them both they are easy to handle dont come spitting and arched out the holes just pick them straight up. Moved to our last set and just send the pole in worked the set but nobody was home. All in all caught 2 and lost two but was nice to get out and my dad enjoyed it, think he might start coming more often. Will try upload some pics if i get chance Quote Link to post

stroller 341
She has been out a few times but was a bit slower than her brother sounds like she has matured and decided to be a grown up proper ferret Quote Link to post
ferretman89 68
yea she seems to be doing good. I was working her with the polecat jill today and she did the business. Sure once i get them out alot more they will improve and get to know the score. Quote Link to post
